Industrial polished concrete

Industrial polished concrete

An Industrial polished concrete project carried out by Concrete Polishing UK. In Gateshead, Tyne and Wear. The project was 1000 m2. It was an old concrete floor. It was in need of desperate repair. Because the floor was in such a poor condition full restoration was carried out. So, grinding, repairing, joint rebuilding and the mechanical diamond polishing were all carried out. The floor could be restored.

We used Husqvarna HIPERFLOOR® concrete polishing system. To achieve the industrial concrete polishing. Images can be found in our gallery.

The factory floor was given a series of grinding stages, this was aggressively done. Repairs were made to the floor, concrete joints were rebuilt, filling of joints were carried out. Mechanical Diamond polishing was then done. A protective sealer and burnish applied.

We offer concrete floor restoration in many different types of places. These include factories, logistic centers, warehouses, car storage, supermarkets, airports and agricultural buildings. For larger concrete floors that need polishing a ride on trowel polishing system used.

Polished concrete floors have many benefits. Especially in a forklift environment. The floor has longevity and is low maintenance. These benefits help towards maintaining a low cost. Because of the 3-phase Husqvarna concrete grinders and polishers. So, they transform an old deteriorating concrete factory floor. An aesthetically pleasing and functional floor. This is good for forklifts to use safely.

We offer concrete polishing services across the UK. Previous cities we have carried out projects in include Manchester, Liverpool, Birmingham, Newcastle upon Tyne and Bristol and many more. Concrete crack repairs, and concrete joint repairs are also a part of the process. This offers a smooth surface for forklift trucks. A robust floor in high traffic areas. Colours, logos and line marking (demarcation lines) can also be added. Specialist concrete colour dyes will offer a permanent solution.

We have worked with major brands. These include Arla, Tetrosyl, Ecolab, Akzo Nobel and many more. We take Health and Safety seriously. So, dust control. We use specialist vacuums to control the dust. Remote control machines used to mechanically polish the floors. No risk to people injuring whilst transporting the machines. All equipment electrically checked. So this equipment checked regularly and inspected. All carried out by a professional. Risk assessments are all carried out. This is before a project starts.  Full training of the Husqvarna HIPERFLOOR® system is given to all people that work on site. Certificates are provided.

Hencote Winery is a fantastic venue which has received rave reviews for its wine, its restaurant and for its accommodation. The restaurant commands exquisite views of the Shropshire hills. We crafted the restaurant floor using integrally coloured cement and a decorative golden aggregate. The design of the restaurant allows natural light to flood into the room, bringing out different colours in the floor at different times of the day. The exposed aggregate and high gloss reflect light, helping brighten the space after sunset. Hencote selected clustered single bulb lighting, directed by opaque shades. The lights are reflected in the floor’s dark surface, creating a starlight effect.

This was a challenging project. With such a large space, and few architectural features, the floor is a major factor in the overall look of the restaurant. Concrete Polishing was excited to be part of this project and it is rewarding to see it appreciated by the PICS and the decorative concrete community.

Since Hencote we have continued to develop as a company, building our knowledge and skills in the field of polished concrete. We aim to build on this success and continue exceed expectations, creating attractive and hardwearing floors across the UK.
