Polished Concrete Flooring Installation

Our client approached Concrete Polishing to complete this polished concrete flooring installation.

Approximately 100m3 of concrete, pumped by Concrete Pumping Services Ltd into the desired area. This was achieve quickly and efficiently. Due to the precision and attention to detail that contractors have to adhere to when laying a polished concrete flooring installation. Contractors installed the concrete over 3 days to ensure the team did not compromise the quality.

The concrete was placed by contractors directly over the underfloor heating system and the reinforcement mesh. This is the most effective way to place the concrete due to the concrete helping distribute the heat effectively and also concrete has a higher thermal mass. Compared to other flooring options. Concrete retains heat making it excellent when working in conjunction with underfloor heating.

The client chose to use a conventional concrete mix. Therefore contractors added no integral or colour surface hardener to the mix. Once contractors had placed the concrete they could then begin to finish the slab by power floating. Due to the size of the area, ride-on power trowels and free-standing trowels were the contractor’s chosen methods. To complete this polished concrete flooring installation. Once contractors had completed these stages the slab would be ready to mechanically diamond polish.
