Concrete Polishing were contacted to rescue a polished concrete floor on the Isle of Harris, Scotland. The floor had previously been installed and polished by another contractor. Our client expressed that the previous contractor had exhausted all avenues of improvement. The result was the best that could be achieved.
There were many challenges in order to rescue this polished concrete floor, Scotland aside from the floor condition. The property was fully furnished, therefore controlling dust and ensuring no damage to appliances or finishes was of the upmost importance.
The concrete had been placed to a substandard for a polished finish and did not meet the clients expectations. Some imperfections such as discoloration were impractical to fully remove due to the amount of initial grinding being limited, especially around thresholds, however the surface was consistently polished and smooth. The previous contractor had also placed the floor without control joints, in turn cracks were therefore present. The client opted to make a feature of the cracks and a black repair product was used to fill.
Overall our client was extremely happy with the difference Concrete Polishing were able to achieve. A fantastic google review was received and the client was presented with an attractive polished concrete floor. This was a great opportunity for Concrete Polishing to demonstrate our capabilities.
